Abstract:
This talk will present some recent progress that we achieved for 
controlling and modulating oscillations emergent in biological or/and 
chemical dynamical systems.  Not only deterministic schemes but also 
stochastic protocols are proposed and validated to be useful in 
realizing oscillation controls and modulations.   The talk also will 
show some advantages of the proposed control or coupling schemes from 
the view point of physics.  Finally, the talk will show the perspectives
of the future works in this model-driven research as well as in the 
related data-driven research.
 
Bio:  Wei Lin received the Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from Fudan 
University, Shanghai, China, in January 2003, with specialization in 
nonlinear dynamical systems. He is currently the Professor in applied 
mathematics at Fudan University. His research interests include 
deterministic and random dynamical systems, complex networks, data 
assimilation, causality analysis, and all their applications to systems 
biology and artificial intelligence. Dr. Lin is currently the Board 
Member of the International Physics and Control Society and the 
Associate Editor of the International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 
and a member of Editorial Advisory Board of CHAOS. He received the 
Excellent Young Scholar Fund from NSFC in 2013.
